Becoming Whole (2018)

As a loved one’s battle with cancer removed each material manifestation of femaleness from her flesh, the importance of my own physical body began to diminish. My definition of womanhood began to transcend that of popular displays of objectified parts and pieces - my body became whole.

In memory of my mom z"l, Cari Robin Enav 1961-2019

All pieces are fabric collage and embroidery.

My right to be me is tied with a thousand threads to your right to be you.

-Leslie Feinberg
